Powerfleet Inc. (NASDAQ: AIOT) announced it secured a public sector contract to provide integrated video intelligence and fleet visibility services for South African government departments managing more than 100,000 vehicles.

The agreement represents what the company describes as a major deployment in its history and is expected to generate recurring software-as-a-service and services revenue over a minimum five-year term following phased implementation. The contract expands Powerfleet's existing partnership with MTN for nationwide delivery through connectivity and network infrastructure.

"This award is highly meaningful for Powerfleet and reflects the increasing scale at which public sector organizations are adopting data-driven fleet technologies in partnership with tier one providers," said Steve Towe, Chief Executive Officer of Powerfleet.

Tumi Chamayou, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN, said the collaboration supports secure, enterprise-grade connectivity for large public sector operations and advances modernization of transport infrastructure.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Deployment is expected to begin mid calendar year, with revenue commencing upon installation and scaling as subscribers join the platform. The company stated that preliminary department enrollments are ahead of initial internal expectations.

Powerfleet provides artificial intelligence of things software-as-a-service solutions for mobile asset management. The company is headquartered in New Jersey with offices globally and maintains listings on both NASDAQ and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
