Plaid Technologies names Shawn Babcock as chief operating officer
Plaid Technologies Inc. (CSE: STIF) (OTC: STIFF) (FRA: 5QX0) appointed Shawn Babcock as chief operating officer, effective January 20, 2026, according to a company statement.
Babcock brings nine years of senior executive leadership experience in commercializing technologies across industrial sectors. As chief operating officer, Babcock will oversee operations focusing on scale-up and commercialization of the company's cement additive and graphene dispersion technologies. His responsibilities include advancing manufacturing readiness, supply chain integration, and quality control for the company's cement additive product.
"Shawn brings exactly the operational discipline and commercialization experience we need at this stage of our growth," said Guy Bourgeois, CEO of Plaid Technologies. "His ability to commercialize emerging technologies, build scalable operations, and execute across complex supply chains will be instrumental as we move toward broader market adoption."
In connection with the appointment, the company granted Babcock 200,000 stock options exercisable at $0.60 per common share and 150,000 restricted share units, subject to Canadian Securities Exchange approval. The stock options vest in equal quarterly installments over twelve months and expire after four years. The restricted share units vest upon achieving performance milestones and expire after four years.
Plaid Technologies focuses on developing graphene-enhanced technologies, with applications for graphene-infused concrete mixtures in wellbore cement and subsurface applications.
