Pearson (NYSE: PSO) and Namibox (Nasdaq: NAMI) signed a strategic cooperation memorandum during the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, according to a press release from Jinxin Technology Holding Company, Namibox's parent.

The agreement marks the third phase of collaboration between the two companies, following a strategic cooperation in 2018 and the joint launch of the "Pearson Teaching Box" in 2020. Pearson is also a strategic investor in Namibox.

Under the memorandum, the companies plan to develop AI-powered digital language learning products, with initial launches targeting Greater China before expanding globally. The first phase is expected to reach millions of learners.

Namibox will contribute local learning data and AI delivery capabilities, while Pearson will provide English assessment standards and instructional content. The companies said initial products will draw on Pearson's global base of print textbook users.

Xu Jin, Founder and CEO of Namibox, noted that Pearson holds a broad portfolio of English learning products, while Namibox specializes in transforming educational content into digital learning experiences for local users.

According to The Business Research Company, the global AI education market was valued at approximately $7.5 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach about $42.5 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of over 41%.

Separately, iResearch's 2026 China GenAI + Education Industry Development Report estimated the total market for generative AI education products and services in China reached RMB 344.2 billion in 2025, with a projection of RMB 891 billion by 2028.

Namibox is headquartered in Shanghai and operates a K-12 digital education platform. The company distributes content through its Namibox app, telecom and broadcast operators, and third-party educational devices.
