Patriot Battery Metals adds mining executive to board
Patriot Battery Metals Inc. (TSX: PMET) (ASX: PMT) (OTCQX: PMETF) (FSE: R9GA) announced the appointment of Aline Côté to its board of directors as an independent director, effective immediately.
Côté brings 27 years of international mining experience across exploration, technical services, and operational leadership. She began her career at Noranda Inc. and held senior roles at Xstrata plc and Glencore International AG. In 2014, she was appointed Head of Zinc Mining Technical Services at Glencore, serving until 2019 when she became the company's first female Industrial Lead, managing global zinc and lead industrial assets.
She joined the board of directors of Kazzinc in 2019 and Trevali Mining Corporation in 2020, where she served as Chair of the Technical Committee. Côté holds a B.Sc. in Geology and an MBA from the Université du Québec, with postgraduate training at Laurentian University.
Pierre Boivin, Chair of the Board of Directors, stated that Côté is "a highly respected executive in the mining sector" who brings "an exceptional combination of technical depth, operational leadership, and strategic perspective."
Patriot Battery Metals is a lithium exploration company focused on its Shaakichiuwaanaan Property in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. The project hosts what the company describes as the world's largest pollucite-hosted caesium pegmatite mineral resource and ranks as the largest lithium pegmatite resource in the Americas.
The company announced a Preliminary Economic Assessment for the CV5 Pegmatite in August 2024, outlining potential for a lithium project targeting up to 800 ktpa spodumene concentrate production.
