Optimi Health ships psilocybin capsules to Australia in third export
Optimi Health Corp. (NASDAQ: OPTH) (CSE: OPTI) (FSE: 8BN0) has completed its third commercial shipment of 5mg psilocybin capsules to Australia since launching the product in September 2025, according to a company press release.
The shipment consisted of 1,000 capsules produced at Optimi's GMP-certified facility in Princeton, British Columbia, and exported under authorization from Health Canada. The capsules are prescribed in Australia for treatment-resistant depression, defined as major depression that has not responded to multiple standard antidepressant treatments.
In Australia, the capsules are dispensed under the Therapeutic Goods Administration's Authorized Prescriber Scheme and are reimbursed by payers including the Department of Veterans' Affairs, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, WorkCover, and Medibank. More than 750 clinicians have been trained to deliver the therapy.
Optimi stated it is not aware of any serious adverse events reported under the scheme based on data collected through December 31, 2025.
"We are proud to be among the few Nasdaq-listed companies commercially supplying psilocybin to patients with treatment-resistant depression outside of clinical trials," said Dane Stevens, CEO and Co-Founder of Optimi.
Australia rescheduled psilocybin from a prohibited substance to a controlled medicine for treatment-resistant depression effective July 1, 2023, making it the first country to do so. An updated Authorized Prescriber framework subsequently expanded therapist eligibility and treatment settings.
Optimi also manufactures MDMA, which Australia rescheduled on the same date for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.
