Nutriband Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRB) announced that Costa Rica's Ministry of Health has approved the company's kinesiology tapes for import and sale in the country. The regulatory approval was overseen and financed by Innomedica CCB S.A., Nutriband's exclusive distribution partner for Costa Rica.
The Orlando-based company stated it plans to increase marketing efforts for the kinesiology products and its mosquito repellent patch line following the approval. Nutriband previously announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Innomedica for its kinesiology line, AVERSA products, and mosquito repellent patches.
Nutriband develops transdermal pharmaceutical products, with its lead product being an abuse-deterrent fentanyl patch that incorporates the company's AVERSA technology. The AVERSA system is designed to prevent abuse, misuse, diversion, and accidental exposure of drugs with abuse potential by incorporating aversive agents into transdermal patches.
The company holds patents for its technology in multiple countries including the United States, Europe, Japan, Korea, Russia, China, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.
