NextPlat subsidiary wins $820,000 U.K. government satellite contract

NextPlat Corp (NASDAQ: NXPL) announced that its Global Telesat Communications Ltd subsidiary received an $820,000 contract from a U.K. government prime supplier to provide satellite-enabled Internet of Things hardware for a NATO military customer.

The two-year contract supports the deployment of satellite-enabled IoT terminals and related hardware designed to deliver voice, data, and asset management capabilities globally. The U.K.-based prime supplier serves government and commercial customers with engineering and services solutions.

The IoT terminals operate on Iridium's Certus satellite network and combine dual-mode satellite and LTE connectivity. The devices are certified as Iridium Connected products and provide enterprise-grade communications capabilities when terrestrial networks are unavailable.

"This order highlights the growing role of satellite IoT in supporting modern engineering, infrastructure, and service operations where uptime, visibility, and reliability are essential," said David Phipps, CEO of NextPlat and Managing Director of Global Telesat Communications.

NextPlat operates as a global consumer products and services company providing healthcare and technology solutions through e-commerce and retail channels. The company's communications division offers voice, data, tracking, and IoT products and services worldwide.

The contract represents the latest in a series of government and military contracts received by Global Telesat Communications over the past year, according to the company's statement.
