Metallium Ltd. (ASX: MTM; OTCQX: MTMCF) announced the appointment of Travis Langster to the Advisory Board of Flash Metals USA, the company's wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary that commercializes Flash Joule Heating technology for extracting critical minerals.

Langster previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International & Industry Equipment, where he led efforts to modernize the U.S. defense industrial base and develop armaments cooperation policies. He also served as Principal Director of Space and Missile Defense Policy and played a role in launching the Department of Defense's Commercial Space Integration Strategy in April 2024.

"Mr. Langster is a highly regarded aerospace and defense executive, with a distinguished career in the U.S. Department of Defense and senior leadership roles in the space and missile defense sectors," said Michael Walshe, Managing Director and CEO of Metallium. The appointment follows the recent addition of Greg Bowman to the advisory board.

Langster stated that the United States and its allies face an urgent need to secure resilient supply chains for critical materials, particularly for electronics and defense sectors. He described Metallium's technology platform as a transformative solution to these challenges.

Flash Metals USA operates under an exclusive license from Rice University for the Flash Joule Heating technology. The company is developing its first commercial plant near Houston, Texas, with options on additional facilities in Massachusetts and Virginia. The technology targets recovery of rare earth elements, antimony, gallium, germanium, indium, gold, silver, copper and tin from mineral concentrates and waste streams.

The information is based on a company press release.
