McNichols Co., a Tampa, Fla.-based distributor and fabricator of specialty metals and fiberglass products, has appointed Mateus Panosso as president, according to a press release.
Panosso most recently served as Head of Company-Owned Distribution at Wilsonart, a private-equity-backed engineered surfaces company. Before that, he was Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at Armstrong World Industries (NYSE: AWI), where he built the company's corporate mergers and acquisitions function and led the divestiture of its European and Asian businesses.
Earlier in his career, Panosso held strategy and business development roles at DuPont (NYSE: DD), including regional Latin American responsibilities. He also co-founded an import/export distribution company and began his career at Accenture.
Panosso holds a B.S. and B.A. from Miami University in Ohio, an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, and an M.S. in international studies from the University of Pennsylvania Lauder Institute.
"He joins us at an important time in our nearly 75-year history," said McNichols CEO Scott McNichols in the statement.
One Equity Partners, which made an investment in McNichols in October 2025, is described in the release as viewing the appointment as a step forward in its partnership with the company. McNichols operates 19 service centers across the United States.
