Matanuska Telecom Association, an Alaska-based telecommunications cooperative, appointed Demian Voiles as chief executive officer effective September 29, 2025. Voiles will replace retiring CEO Michael C. Burke following a nationwide search conducted with CarterBaldwin Executive Search.

Voiles brings nearly three decades of experience from Fortune 50 companies. He most recently served as regional vice president of construction and engineering at Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA), where he managed a $300 million capital budget. Previously, as regional vice president of sales and marketing in Texas, he directed strategies that generated $2 billion in annual revenue.

Before joining Comcast, Voiles held senior leadership positions at GCI Liberty and Verizon (NYSE: VZ). At Verizon, he launched and led Verizon Alaska as its first employee, building the operation and surpassing market and revenue targets.

"Demian brings a unique combination of entrepreneurial vision and large-scale operational expertise," said Ken Kincaid, chief governance officer of the MTA Board, according to the company's statement. "His leadership in building markets from the ground up, along with his success in delivering transformative growth for global telecom companies, makes him the right leader to guide MTA through a period of continued expansion and community impact."

Voiles holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Davis.

Established in 1953, MTA serves over 33,000 members across Southcentral Alaska. The cooperative operates Alaska's first all-terrestrial 100% fiber-optic network connecting Alaska to the lower 48 states and employs more than 350 people.
