Maris-Tech partners with Quantum Gyro on GPS-alternative navigation system
Maris-Tech Ltd. (NASDAQ: MTEK, MTEKW) announced a collaboration agreement with Quantum Gyro Ltd. to develop ME-Nav, a navigation system designed to operate in environments where GPS is unavailable or jammed.
The companies will form a jointly owned entity to commercialize the product, with Maris-Tech holding a 51% stake and Quantum Gyro owning 49%. Maris-Tech will appoint two directors to the new company's board, while Quantum Gyro will appoint one director.
The ME-Nav system combines Maris-Tech's edge AI computing platform with Quantum Gyro's quantum gyroscope technology based on nuclear magnetic resonance. The technology is intended for military operations, urban warfare, indoor navigation, and autonomous systems where traditional GPS systems may be disrupted or jammed.
Development is expected to progress over 24 months with quarterly milestone targets overseen by a joint steering committee. The companies estimate a development budget of approximately $1 million, subject to approvals from both companies and the new entity's board of directors.
Under the agreement, Maris-Tech will have exclusive global rights to manufacture, market, and distribute the ME-Nav product line. Quantum Gyro's technology uses squeezed light to enhance measurement sensitivity and operates with hot rubidium vapor as the source of squeezed light.
"We believe that this collaboration combines Maris-Tech's proven edge AI video intelligence with Quantum Gyro's cutting-edge quantum inertial technology to create a game-changing navigation solution for GPS-denied environments," said Israel Bar, Chief Executive Officer of Maris-Tech.
Maris-Tech specializes in video and AI-based edge computing technology, serving manufacturers in defense, aerospace, intelligence gathering, homeland security, and communications industries. Quantum Gyro develops quantum-enhanced inertial sensors for navigation in GPS-denied environments.
