Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. received a contract from Singapore's National Environment Agency for boiler retrofit work at the Tuas South Incineration Plant in western Singapore.

The project aims to stabilize waste handling capacity and extend the facility's operational lifespan, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. will handle the design, construction and operational support for the retrofit.

The Tuas South plant was originally designed and constructed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and completed in 2000. The facility processes 3,000 tons of waste daily and is operated by the National Environment Agency.

The retrofit will include design modifications for certain boiler tube sections that require replacement. Following completion, the company will provide ongoing support to ensure plant performance.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chemical Engineering has delivered four waste-to-energy incineration facilities in Singapore since beginning operations at the Tuas Incineration Plant in 1986. The company has expanded its services beyond equipment supply and construction to include facility operations, maintenance services and operational support.

The information was disclosed in a company press release.
