Lunit partners with Agilent to develop AI companion diagnostic tools
Lunit (KRX:328130.KQ) and Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced a nonexclusive collaboration to develop AI-based companion diagnostic solutions, according to a company statement.
The partnership will combine Lunit's artificial intelligence technology with Agilent's tissue-based companion diagnostics expertise to create solutions for biomarker assays in drug development. The companies plan to develop AI-powered companion diagnostic tools designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy and measure therapeutic efficacy.
The collaboration will initially focus on co-developing AI-powered assays for research and clinical trials. The joint solutions aim to support pharmaceutical companies in companion diagnostic product development and biomarker testing.
"Biomarker testing is at the heart of precision oncology, but today it is still largely dependent on manual interpretation," said Brandon Suh, CEO of Lunit. "By combining Agilent's global leadership in tissue-based diagnostics with Lunit's proven AI algorithms, we can help pharma partners bring biomarker-driven therapies to market faster and with greater confidence."
Nina Green, vice-president and general manager of Agilent's Clinical Diagnostics Division, stated the collaboration aims to deliver diagnostic tools that enable advancement of precision medicine.
Lunit, founded in 2013, develops AI-powered solutions for medical imaging and biomarker analysis. The company's FDA-cleared Lunit INSIGHT suite operates at over 7,000 medical institutions in more than 65 countries. Agilent Technologies operates in life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets.
