Lantronix Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX) and Swarmer Inc. (NASDAQ: SWMR) announced a collaboration to develop a custom compute platform for Group 1 unmanned aerial systems, according to a press release issued July 30, 2026.

Lantronix will develop the platform based on its Open-Q™ 6490CS System-on-Module. The companies say the solution is designed to deliver roughly four times the onboard processing power compared to current platforms, supporting Swarmer's autonomy software for visual navigation, automated target recognition, pixel lock and drone teaming algorithms.

Swarmer, founded in Austin, Texas in May 2023, deployed its autonomy software in Ukraine in April 2024. The company states its software has supported more than 100,000 combat missions across nearly 50 Ukrainian military units operating in electronic warfare and GPS-denied environments.

"Autonomy software only proves itself once it's deployed on hardware that's actually flying," said Saleel Awsare, president and CEO of Lantronix. "A production-ready NDAA-compliant Lantronix compute platform with Swarmer's combat-proven software provides operators with roughly four times the processing power."

The platform is designed to be NDAA-compliant and is intended to support air, ground and maritime unmanned systems. Lantronix states it is committed to more than 10 years of production support for the module.

"Our collaboration with Lantronix will produce a compute platform that is capable of running AI models on the edge in a small form factor that is optimized for Group 1 UAS," said Alex Fink, president and U.S. CEO of Swarmer. "Every unit will arrive pre-populated with Swarmer OS and Swarmer's cutting-edge autonomy."

The companies said the platform is aimed at U.S. and allied defense programs, including drone deployments in Ukraine. No financial terms of the collaboration were disclosed, and the press release noted that no definitive agreement has been reached between the two companies.
