Kroger (NYSE: KR) and DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) announced an expansion of their partnership that will make nearly 2,700 Kroger stores available on the DoorDash platform starting October 1.

The expanded relationship will allow customers to order Kroger's full grocery assortment through DoorDash, including fresh foods, household essentials, and the retailer's private-label Our Brands products. The service will be available across Kroger banners including Mariano's, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, and Harris Teeter.

Customers will be able to access Kroger deals, loyalty program discounts, and everyday pricing through the DoorDash app, with delivery promised in as little as one hour.

"Customers are looking for more convenient ways to shop at their local Kroger store, and delivery is an increasingly important way they engage with us," said Yael Cosset, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer for Kroger.

DoorDash President and Chief Operating Officer Prabir Adarkar said the expansion brings customers access to "Kroger's full assortment across fresh food, household essentials, and its popular private-label brands, all at affordable prices."

The companies plan to collaborate on retail media initiatives and new delivery models. DoorDash launched grocery delivery in 2020 and reported that over 25% of its global monthly active users ordered from new verticals, including grocery, in the second quarter. The platform serves more than 42 million monthly active users globally.

The information is based on a joint press release from the companies.
