Iran's president says contact with Supreme Leader is "very difficult"
Investing.com -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that communication with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently "very difficult," according to an interview broadcast on state television today.
Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since assuming the role of supreme leader. He took the position after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in strikes carried out by the U.S. and Israel against Iran.
The president's comments mark a rare acknowledgment of challenges in the country's leadership structure during a period of transition at the highest levels of government.
