Infleqtion receives $2M army contract for navigation technology
Infleqtion announced it secured a $2 million contract from the U.S. Army to develop navigation and timing technology for military applications. The 18-month Direct-to-Phase II Small Business Innovation Research contract will fund development of the company's Secured AI for Positioning at the Edge, Navigation, and Timing system.
The Boulder, Colorado-based quantum technology company will apply its Contextual Machine Learning technology to enhance the Army's navigation capabilities in environments where signals may be disrupted or compromised. The system is designed to integrate data from multiple sources including GPS, inertial navigation systems, and computer vision on compact edge computing platforms.
The contract follows Infleqtion's first-place finish in the Army's xTechScalable AI Challenge, where the company's solution was selected from 133 initial submissions. The competition ran from December 2023 to July 2024 and led to this direct Phase II award, which will fund development through October 2026.
"SAPIENT builds on the early promise of CML by applying it to some of the military's most urgent edge-AI challenges," said Pranav Gokhale, Chief Technology Officer at Infleqtion. "We're honored to continue working with the Army to develop scalable solutions that enhance operational resilience in the presence of adversarial threats."
Infleqtion develops quantum computers, precision sensors, and quantum software for government and commercial customers. The company announced plans to go public through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp X (NASDAQ: CCCX). The technology uses quantum-inspired algorithms and operates on NVIDIA's CUDA-Q platform.
The company has previously demonstrated applications of its Contextual Machine Learning technology in Army and Navy programs, including RF signal processing applications. The new contract represents an expansion of the technology's use in multi-sensor environments for military navigation systems.
