Homeland Nickel names Heida Mani as advisory board chair
Homeland Nickel Inc. (TSXV: SHL) (OTCQB: SRCGF) has appointed Heida Mani as chair of its advisory board, according to a press release from the Canadian mineral exploration company.
Mani brings more than 36 years of experience in the metals and mining industry, with a focus on nickel deposits, concentrate valuation, and processing strategies. She spent 23 years at Inco and Vale, where she reached the role of Director of Markets & Industry.
In her new role, Mani will focus on processing flowsheets and commercialization strategy across Homeland's portfolio of nine nickel properties in Oregon, including the Cleopatra and Red Flat projects. The company states that Cleopatra holds a historical resource of approximately 40 million tonnes grading 0.93% nickel, which it describes as the largest undeveloped historical nickel resource in the continental United States. The company notes that a qualified person has not completed sufficient work to classify this estimate as a current mineral resource or reserve.
Mani's work will also support Homeland's existing binding off-take agreement with Westwin Elements Inc. for the supply of nickel concentrate.
Stephen Balch, President and CEO, said in the statement: "As we advance our exploration, metallurgical testing, and engineering programs across our Oregon nickel projects, Heida's guidance will be instrumental in optimizing our processing flowsheets."
Separately, Homeland Nickel announced the grant of 1,200,000 restricted share units to certain directors and officers under its long-term incentive plan. The RSUs vest 12 months from the date of grant, with each unit entitling the holder to acquire one common share of the company.
