Harbour BioMed names Yajie Li as chief medical officer
Harbour BioMed (HKEX: 02142) appointed Yajie Li as chief medical officer, the biopharmaceutical company announced. Li will be based in Shanghai and report to Dr. Jingsong Wang, founder, chairman and chief executive officer.
In her new role, Li will oversee clinical development, regulatory strategy, and medical affairs for the company's clinical-stage programs. She will also evaluate early-stage assets based on medical needs, clinical value, and scientific differentiation.
Li brings more than 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, having held leadership positions in clinical development and regulatory affairs at multinational corporations including Merck, Johnson & Johnson and Parexel. She also worked at Chinese biopharma companies GenSci, XuanZhu Biopharm, and Innovent. Prior to her industry career, Li served for nine years as a senior medical officer at China's National Medical Products Administration and Center for Drug Evaluation, where she contributed to regulatory assessments across therapeutic areas.
"Her deep expertise in clinical development and regulatory science will further strengthen our capabilities as we advance our pipeline," Wang stated in the announcement.
Li holds a master's degree in rheumatology and immunology from Peking Union Medical College. The company focuses on discovering and developing antibody therapeutics in immunology and oncology.
