Harbour BioMed names Bob Zhang to lead metabolic disease franchise
Harbour BioMed (HKEX: 02142) has appointed Dr. Bob Zhang as President of its Metabolic Disease Franchise, the company announced. Dr. Zhang will be based in Shanghai and report directly to Dr. Jingsong Wang, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
In his new role, Dr. Zhang will oversee portfolio development, research and development, strategic collaborations, and organizational growth within the franchise, which focuses on obesity, metabolic diseases, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), liver diseases, and cardiovascular disorders.
Dr. Zhang brings more than 20 years of experience in metabolic and liver disease research and development. Before joining Harbour BioMed, he served as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Epigenic Therapeutics, Chief Executive Officer of Kunming Biomed International, and Director of Translational Medicine at Sanofi.
Dr. Zhang holds an M.D. from Dalian Medical University and a Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, and completed executive management training at China Europe International Business School.
