Guardian Capital changes fund name to reflect diversified approach

Guardian Capital LP announced it will rename the Guardian Canadian Sector Controlled Equity Fund to Guardian Canadian Diversified Core Equity Fund, effective August 1, 2025. The fund trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker GCSC.



The name change will not affect the fund's investment objective, strategies, or management, according to a company statement. The ticker symbol and CUSIP number will remain unchanged when the new name takes effect on the TSX.



The fund offers multiple unit classes including Unhedged ETF Units, Series A, Series F, and Series I mutual fund units. Guardian Capital LP serves as both manager and portfolio manager of the fund.



Guardian Capital LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Guardian Capital Group Limited (TSX: GCG), manages investment portfolios across various asset classes and geographic regions. The company provides services to institutional clients including pension plans, insurance companies, foundations, and endowments.



Guardian Capital Group Limited reported C$167.2 billion in total client assets as of March 31, 2025, while managing a proprietary investment portfolio valued at C$1.2 billion. The company was founded in 1962 and trades its Common and Class A shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange as GCG and GCG.A respectively.
