Google unveils Pixel 11 series with new chip and camera upgrades
Google announced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL on Aug. 12, 2026, with pre-orders starting at $899, $1,099, and $1,299, respectively. All three phones are scheduled to reach retail shelves on Aug. 20.
The new lineup is powered by the Google Tensor G6 chip, which the company says delivers 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches compared to the previous generation. The chip includes 50% more TPU compute and processes on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy, according to Google.
All three models start with 256GB of storage and feature a new 48-megapixel main camera sensor. Google says the sensor delivers 56% more light sensitivity. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL include an upgraded 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 30% more light sensitivity and support for 120x Pro Zoom. Night Sight capture speed has been improved to up to 4.5 times faster, the company said.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL feature a Super Actua display reaching up to 3,600 nits and a new anti-scratch coating the company claims offers more than double the scratch resistance of the previous generation. A new LED notification system called HiLight uses colored lights around the camera flash to signal alerts and Gemini AI activity when the phone is face down.
New to Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro is Qi 2.2 25W wireless charging compatibility. The Pixel 11 Pro XL supports wired charging that Google says can deliver 15 hours of battery life in 15 minutes.
The phones include a new Titan M3 security chip and post-quantum cryptography for secure boot. All three models come with seven years of OS, security, and software updates. Pro models include six months of Google AI Pro, which covers expanded Gemini usage, 5TB of cloud storage, and Google Health Premium.
