Investing.com -- GameStop Corp. shares traded over 2.5% higher in after-hours trading on Tuesday following disclosure that the company's CEO Ryan Cohen purchased additional company stock.

Cohen, who serves as chairman, president, and chief executive of GameStop, acquired 844,130 shares of Class A common stock on Tuesday, according to a Form 4 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The purchases included 67,130 shares at $26.75 each and 777,000 shares at $27.00 each. After these transactions, Cohen directly owns 42,492,652 shares of GameStop's Class A common stock, bringing his total stake in the company to 9.1%.

Cohen has made several purchases in recent months. In early October 2026, he bought 700,000 shares, and on September 29, 2026, he purchased 450,000 shares. On September 21, 2026, he acquired 1,150,680 shares at a weighted average price of $22.94, totaling $26.4 million. On September 10, 2026, he bought 1,000,000 shares at an average price of $20.38, totaling $20.4 million.

GameStop shares have risen roughly 26% over the past 30 days and are up 32% year-to-date.

Last week, analyst Dan Ives of Yorkville Ives initiated coverage on GameStop with an outperform rating and a price target of $32.00. Ives stated that the company is moving beyond its traditional video-game retail business into a collectibles and capital-allocation platform. Trading cards are becoming central to this strategy, with GameStop's relationship with PSA enabling customers to submit cards for grading at participating stores.

GameStop holds a 9.8% ownership stake in eBay, with Cohen spearheading the failed $56 billion bid in May to acquire the online marketplace.
