Fujitsu partners with Arrcus to develop AI network infrastructure
Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702), its subsidiary 1Finity Inc., and Arrcus Inc. signed a strategic partnership agreement to develop network solutions for AI infrastructure, the companies announced September 3.
The partnership targets network operators, enterprise customers, and data center operators primarily in Japan, with plans to expand globally. The collaboration aims to address increasing AI-related data traffic requiring infrastructure connecting data centers, cloud platforms, 5G/6G networks, and edge environments.
Under the agreement, 1Finity will offer Arrcus networking solutions and jointly develop market expansion plans. Arrcus provides Network Operating System software that operates across data center clusters from edge to multi-cloud environments. The software runs on generic components rather than dedicated hardware, according to the companies.
Customers implementing Arrcus software have achieved more than 40% reduction in total cost of ownership across multiple use cases, the companies stated.
"Flexible networks that combine innovation in software, silicon, and optics are of critical importance for AI data centers and 5G/6G connected inference edges," said Shekar Ayyar, Chairman and CEO of Arrcus.
Masaaki Moribayashi, Corporate Executive Officer at Fujitsu and CEO of 1Finity, said the partnership will help provide network solutions as AI-related data transfer increases in volume and complexity.
The collaboration will extend beyond the Fujitsu Group to include global business partners, covering network design, maintenance, and managed services. Fujitsu reported consolidated revenues of 3.6 trillion yen for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025.
