Fujitsu partners with Anthropic to accelerate AI adoption in Japan
Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702) announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic PBC to integrate advanced AI technologies into mission-critical systems across Japanese enterprises. The partnership, formalized on May 27, combines Anthropic's AI models with Fujitsu's industry expertise and system operations capabilities.
Under the agreement, approximately 100,000 Fujitsu Group employees will use Anthropic's Claude AI system to enhance operations while validating secure AI usage practices. Fujitsu plans to apply insights from this internal deployment to help customers implement AI solutions in sectors including government, finance, healthcare, and critical infrastructure.
The partnership focuses on three main areas: strengthening Fujitsu's Forward Deployed Engineer business model through Claude integration, enhancing cybersecurity capabilities for the AI era, and establishing scalable AI utilization frameworks through internal practice.
Fujitsu will combine Claude with its existing AI technologies, including the Kozuchi platform and Takane large language model, to deliver customized solutions based on customer requirements for data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and security.
"We see the rapid evolution and growth of AI as something that must be swiftly implemented in society and translated into value creation," said Takahito Tokita, CEO of Fujitsu Limited.
Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at Anthropic, noted that Fujitsu is deploying Claude to 100,000 employees and building a 1,000-person engineering team to deliver the technology to customers.
Fujitsu reported consolidated revenues of 3.5 trillion yen ($23 billion) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. The company maintains its position as Japan's top digital services company by market share.
