Enerflex Ltd. (TSX: EFX) (NYSE: EFXT) announced the appointment of Paul E. Mahoney as president and chief executive officer, effective September 29, 2025. Mahoney will also join the company's board of directors on the same date.
The appointment follows a global search process that evaluated internal and external candidates with assistance from an executive search firm, according to the company's statement.
Mahoney brings over 30 years of experience in the industrial and energy sectors. Since 2018, he has served as group president of production and automation technologies at ChampionX Corporation, a provider of production technologies for upstream and midstream oil and gas markets. ChampionX was acquired by SLB in July 2025. Previously, Mahoney held the position of president of artificial lift at Dover Corporation.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in physics and electrical engineering from the University of Buffalo and an MBA from Seattle University's Albers School of Business and Economics. Mahoney also serves as a director of Chart Industries Inc.
Preet S. Dhindsa, who served as interim chief executive officer, will return to his role as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Joe Ladouceur, who served as interim CFO, will continue as vice president of treasury, tax, and insurance.
Kevin Reinhart, chair of the board, stated that Mahoney's experience and leadership capabilities make him suited to drive the company's focus on creating shareholder value.
Enerflex outlined its near-term priorities as enhancing profitability of core operations, leveraging its position in core operating countries to capitalize on expected increases in natural gas and produced water volumes, and maximizing free cash flow.
The Calgary-based company provides energy infrastructure and energy transition solutions globally, employing over 4,400 people.
