Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: DFLI) received patent allowance from the Japan Patent Office for its solid-state battery technology, marking the company's first patent approval in Japan.
The patent application covers powderized solid-state electrolyte and electroactive materials, which are components of the company's solid-state battery development and dry electrode manufacturing platform. The materials are designed for solvent-free electrode production while targeting improvements in safety, energy density, and manufacturing efficiency.
"This milestone strengthens our global intellectual property portfolio around dry electrode manufacturing and all-solid-state cell development," said Dr. Denis Phares, Chief Executive Officer of Dragonfly Energy. "Our approach simplifies cell production while advancing performance and safety, which we believe is critical to the future of battery manufacturing."
The Reno, Nevada-based company specializes in lithium battery technology through cell manufacturing, battery pack assembly, and system integration. Dragonfly Energy operates the Battle Born Batteries brand and focuses on domestic lithium battery cell production using a patented dry electrode manufacturing process.
The patent protection in Japan supports the company's strategy to commercialize battery technologies and expand in global energy storage markets, according to the company statement.
