Dime Community Bancshares announced the appointment of Meyer Eichler as Executive Vice President and Managing Executive Director, according to a company press release. Eichler will focus on expanding the bank's presence within Orthodox Jewish communities across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Lakewood, New Jersey, and other markets with significant Orthodox Jewish populations.

Eichler previously served as Executive Vice President and Head of Community Markets at Flagstar Bank. He spent approximately 13 years at Signature Bank and was a founder and Vice Chairman of Liberty Pointe Bank.

The bank also appointed Cora Licht, a member of Eichler's team, as Managing Director and Senior Vice President.

"We are excited to welcome a banker of Meyer's caliber and stature to Dime," said Stuart H. Lubow, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Meyer has an outstanding track record and reputation and will be a significant asset to Dime across our business lines and geographies."

Lubow stated that Eichler will work to grow the deposit franchise and partner with commercial bankers to build the bank's presence in sectors with Orthodox Jewish footprint, including healthcare, real estate, retail and wholesale trade, and education.

"My team, which has been serving our valued clients for decades, is very excited to join Dime Commercial Bank," Eichler said. "We were attracted to Dime's vision for growth and its longstanding commitment to serving the community."

Dime is a New York State-chartered trust company with approximately $15 billion in assets and holds the number one deposit market share on Greater Long Island among commercial banks with less than $20 billion in assets.
