Desert Mountain Energy names Timothy Orr as chief operating officer
Desert Mountain Energy Corp. (TSX-V: DME) appointed Timothy S. Orr as chief operating officer, according to a company press release. Orr brings over 25 years of experience in public company management, corporate law, and venture leadership to the Vancouver-based energy company.
The appointment supports the company's Project Helios initiative, which aims to provide energy, cooling solutions, and helium supplies for digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and defense sectors. Orr will oversee infrastructure development including a 14.5-mile pipeline and salt cavern storage facilities.
His responsibilities include directing midstream asset development, planning the company's potential uplisting to a senior U.S. exchange, and implementing institutional-grade compliance and SEC-level reporting standards.
"Mr. Orr's hands-on operational experience is exactly what Desert Mountain needs as we solidify our role as a primary utility provider for the next generation of AI and defense infrastructure," said Robert Rohlfing, the company's CEO.
Project Helios represents Desert Mountain's strategy to address power requirements in AI development through natural gas-powered electricity generation and helium production for supercomputing applications. The company recently participated in a Department of Defense symposium in Phoenix, where management engaged with NATO, the UK Ministry of Defence, and the U.S. Department of Energy regarding secure supply arrangements.
Desert Mountain Energy focuses on exploration, development, and production of helium, hydrogen, and natural gas, targeting supply for renewable energy and high technology industries.
