CoreWeave, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRWV) announced the deployment of a multi-rack Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 cluster on CoreWeave Cloud, connecting hundreds of Nvidia Rubin GPUs into a single scale-out cluster intended for agentic AI workloads.

A single Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 rack pairs 72 Rubin GPUs with 36 Vera CPUs, Nvidia NVLink 6, Nvidia ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, and Nvidia BlueField-4 DPUs. The multi-rack configuration links these racks using Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking. Each Rubin GPU is equipped with two ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, providing 1.6 Tb/s of connectivity per GPU, with a fabric supporting roughly 128,000 GPUs per rail.

"With multi-rack Vera Rubin, we are connecting hundreds of Rubin GPUs as a single scale-out cluster," said Chen Goldberg, executive vice president of product and engineering at CoreWeave.

CoreWeave also announced two additions to its AI Object Storage service. The first is cross-region write acceleration, which allows data to be written locally within a region while being replicated to a second region in the background, eliminating cross-region write latency during training jobs. The second is a new Archive storage tier designed for lower-cost, long-term data retention, with no retrieval, early deletion, or read fees.

CoreWeave's Local Object Transport Accelerator (LOTA) delivers reads at local NVMe speeds, claiming an 8x latency reduction compared to traditional storage clusters, with up to 7 GB/s of throughput per GPU.

Cécile Robert-Michon, director of internal infrastructure at Cohere, said the storage service provides "a unified dataset footprint across regions with reads cached locally, so nothing waits on the network."

CoreWeave claims to have been the first AI cloud provider to validate and deploy a single-rack Vera Rubin NVL72 before extending to the multi-rack configuration. The company completed its public listing on Nasdaq in March 2025.
