Con Edison adds SBA Communications CEO to board

Consolidated Edison Inc. (NYSE: ED) announced that its board of directors elected Brendan Cavanagh to join the company's board, effective October 1, 2025.
Cavanagh serves as president and chief executive officer of SBA Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: SBAC), a real estate investment trust that owns and operates wireless communications infrastructure including towers, buildings, rooftops, distributed antenna systems and small cells. He has held the CEO position since January 2024.
Prior to becoming CEO, Cavanagh served as chief financial officer of SBA for 15 years during his 27-year career at the company. He also held other senior leadership roles including vice president and chief accounting officer and vice president of site administration. Before joining SBA, he worked in the audit and assurance practice at Arthur Andersen.
Cavanagh holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Wake Forest University and a master's in business administration from Florida Atlantic University.
Con Edison is a holding company that provides energy-related products and services through subsidiaries including Consolidated Edison Company of New York, which provides electric service in New York City and Westchester County, gas service in Manhattan, the Bronx, parts of Queens and parts of Westchester, and steam service in Manhattan. The company also operates Orange and Rockland Utilities, serving customers in southeastern New York State and northern New Jersey, and Con Edison Transmission, which invests in electric transmission projects.
