Clearmind Medicine partners with Polyrizon for intranasal MEAI formulation
Clearmind Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ: CMND) announced it has entered into a development agreement with Polyrizon Ltd. (NASDAQ: PLRZ) to develop an intranasal formulation of its proprietary compound MEAI.
Under the agreement, Polyrizon will apply its intranasal hydrogel technology to create an optimized formulation of MEAI, a non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogen designed for treating addiction-related disorders, weight loss and other central nervous system conditions.
The collaboration aims to enhance bioavailability and support clinical advancement of Clearmind's lead MEAI candidate. Polyrizon's technology is intended to provide enhanced nasal residence time, targeted delivery and optimized patient usability.
Intranasal administration offers potential advantages over oral routes, including bypassing first-pass metabolism for more direct systemic and central nervous system access, faster onset of absorption and lower effective dosing requirements.
"We are pleased to partner with Polyrizon to develop an intranasal formulation for MEAI," said Dr. Adi Zuloff-Shani, Chief Executive Officer of Clearmind. "Their advanced hydrogel platform complements our efforts to optimize delivery, potentially improving bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy, and patient experience for our non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogen candidates."
Clearmind noted that Polyrizon is a related party under Canadian securities regulations, making this arrangement a related party transaction. The company is relying on exemptions to formal valuation and minority shareholder approval requirements.
Clearmind is a clinical-stage biotech company focused on developing psychedelic-derived therapeutics. The company's intellectual portfolio consists of 19 patent families, including 31 granted patents. Polyrizon specializes in developing innovative medical device hydrogels delivered as nasal sprays.
