ChampionsGate Acquisition names Boon Liat Timothy Lim as new CEO

ChampionsGate Acquisition Corporation (NASDAQ: CHPGU) appointed Boon Liat Timothy Lim as chief executive officer, chairman and director, according to a company statement.



Lim brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience in Southeast Asia. He has served as an independent consultant since January 2022, advising business leaders on strategic and management issues.



From 2006 to 2021, Lim held various executive roles at Dragon Group International Ltd, including executive director and president and acting CEO. He led business development and growth strategies for the Singapore Stock Exchange-listed investment holding company.



Lim also worked at ASTI Holdings Ltd (SGX: 575), a semiconductor developer listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. He served as group administrative officer from 2013 to December 2021 and as executive director from 2004 to December 2021, overseeing corporate functions for the group and its portfolio companies.



The new CEO has served on boards of several public and private companies in Southeast Asia and founded or managed businesses in Singapore, Southeast Asia and India in the computer and semiconductor industries. He holds a diploma in sales and marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the United Kingdom.



Lim replaces Bala Padmakumar, who served as CEO, chairman and director since the company's inception until his departure on July 31, 2025.

ChampionsGate Acquisition Corporation is a blank check company incorporated in the Cayman Islands seeking to complete a business combination with one or more businesses or entities.
