Cannabix Technologies receives patent approval in Canada
Cannabix Technologies Inc. (CSE: BLO) received a notice of allowance from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for patent application No. 3243445 titled "Contact-Free Breath Analysis Device and Method," according to a company statement. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office previously issued a notice of allowance for the same patent application.
A notice of allowance indicates the patent application has been approved by an examiner and the company can obtain the patent upon payment of required fees within a specified timeframe.
The patent application covers dual mode contactless and traditional mouthpiece breath capture and analysis technology developed by the Vancouver-based company. The technology can be integrated into vehicles, workplaces, or public kiosks and supports testing without physical contact.
The system can be used in unmanned breath devices and provides real-time feedback through visual indicators and displays. Applications include law enforcement, workplace safety, and public health monitoring. The system adjusts its internal airflow and pump mechanisms based on the sampling method.
Cannabix Technologies develops marijuana and alcohol breath testing technologies for workplaces, law enforcement and other settings. The company's breath testing focuses on recent marijuana use by detecting delta-9 THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. The company also developed the BreathLogix autonomous alcohol screening device.
