Cadrenal Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: CVKD) appointed Dr. Lee Scott Golden to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company statement. Golden will serve as an independent director.
Golden currently serves as executive vice president and chief medical officer at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTCT), where he leads global clinical development across rare disease programs. His previous roles include chief medical officer positions at Espero BioPharma, Inc. and Gemphire Therapeutics, Inc., along with senior positions at Pfizer, Actelion, Eisai, and Mesoblast.
The biopharmaceutical company develops anticoagulation therapies and currently has two clinical-stage assets: tecarfarin, an oral vitamin K antagonist for chronic use, and frunexian, a parenteral Factor XIa antagonist for acute hospital settings.
"Lee's deep experience in late-stage clinical development, particularly in cardiovascular medicine and anticoagulation, is highly aligned with our mission to deliver safer, more predictable anticoagulant options for patients with significant unmet needs," said Quang X. Pham, chairman and chief executive officer of Cadrenal Therapeutics.
Golden holds more than 25 years of industry experience managing global clinical development teams across multiple therapeutic areas. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and a medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, where he completed his internal medicine residency. He completed fellowships in cardiology at the University of Miami and interventional cardiology at George Washington University Hospital.
Golden also serves as chairman of the advisory board for Coagulation Sciences LLC.
