CEMATRIX starts cellular concrete project in North Carolina
CEMATRIX Corporation (TSX: CEMX) (OTCQB: CTXXF) announced it has mobilized to a project work site in North Carolina and begun pouring cellular concrete, according to a company statement.
The Calgary-based specialty construction contractor produces cellular concrete solutions on site and manufactures cellular concrete supplies across North America. Randy Boomhour, President and CEO, called the project start "a long awaited, key milestone for our Company."
The company stated it generally does not disclose projects before they start or while underway, but made an exception due to the project's significance. Jordan Wolfe, President of MixOnSite, a CEMATRIX subsidiary, described it as "a very significant installation of cellular concrete for our Company and for the industry."
The project is expected to take 12 months to complete, though the timeline may adjust based on requirements from the general contractor or owner, according to the company statement.
CEMATRIX produces cellular concrete, which is described as a flowable, self-leveling, cement-based material with insulating properties. Applications include lightweight engineered fill, retaining wall fill, road subbase, and various construction backfills.
The company operates through wholly owned subsidiaries including CEMATRIX (Canada) Inc., Chicago-based MixOnSite USA Inc., and Bellingham-based Pacific International Grout Company.
