C4 Therapeutics expands Roche partnership with new DAC collaboration

C4 Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: CCCC) announced a new collaboration agreement with Roche (SIX: RO, ROP; OTCQX: RHHBY) to develop degrader-antibody conjugates (DACs) for oncology applications.

Under the agreement, C4 Therapeutics will receive a $20 million upfront payment and is eligible for over $1 billion in discovery, development and commercial milestone payments, plus future royalties. The collaboration covers two oncology programs with an option for a third target.

C4 Therapeutics will use its TORPEDO platform to design degrader payload candidates, while Roche will handle antibody selection, design and conjugation. Roche will advance DAC candidates through preclinical and clinical development and commercialization.

"For the past decade, C4T and Roche have worked together to drive research in targeted protein degradation," said Andrew Hirsch, president and chief executive officer of C4 Therapeutics.

The collaboration represents the third partnership between the companies, building on their relationship that began in 2016. DACs combine antibody-drug conjugation technology with targeted protein degradation to create a treatment approach that utilizes the catalytic mechanism of degraders with antibody delivery capabilities.

C4 Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on targeted protein degradation science. The company trades on NASDAQ under the ticker CCCC and is based in Watertown, Massachusetts.
