Brown-Forman declares quarterly dividend, elects directors at annual meeting

Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE: BF-A, BF-B) held its annual stockholder meeting, during which shareholders elected the board-recommended slate of directors, approved executive compensation on a non-binding advisory basis, and ratified Ernst & Young LLP as the company's independent auditor for fiscal 2027.

Following the meeting, the board approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.2310 per share on both Class A and Class B Common Stock, payable October 1, 2026, to stockholders of record as of September 3, 2026. The Louisville, Kentucky-based spirits company has paid regular quarterly cash dividends for 82 consecutive years and has increased its regular cash dividend for 42 consecutive years. Brown-Forman is a member of the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats index.

The company also addressed the previously announced retirement of President and CEO Lawson Whiting, who will remain in his role until a successor is appointed. The Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, chaired by Tracy Skeans, is leading the succession process and will consider both internal and external candidates. Whiting will remain available in an advisory capacity for a period following the appointment of a successor.
