Beazer Homes adds Howard Heckes to board, Danny Shepherd to retire

Beazer Homes USA, Inc. (NYSE: BZH) appointed Howard Heckes as an independent member of its Board of Directors, according to a company statement.
Heckes previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Masonite International, a global door manufacturer and distributor. He also held the CEO position at Energy Management Collaborative, an LED lighting and controls provider, and various leadership roles at The Valspar Corporation and Newell Brands. Heckes currently serves on the boards of James Hardie Industries plc (NYSE: JHX) and privately-held Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning.
"He brings a wealth of experience across materials and services businesses with strong ties to the homebuilding industry and a long track record of successful leadership," said Allan Merrill, Chairman and CEO of Beazer Homes.
The company also announced that Danny Shepherd will retire from the Board and will not stand for re-election at the 2026 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. The appointments are part of the company's director refreshment program, under which three independent directors have retired and four new independent directors have joined the Board over the past two years.
Beazer Homes is an Atlanta-based national homebuilder that operates in 13 states. The company focuses on energy-efficient construction and offers a mortgage choice program that provides access to loan offers from multiple lenders.
