Auddia Inc. (NASDAQ: AUUD) announced it has adopted an AI-first development model across its product operations, embedding AI tools into design, coding, and quality assurance stages of its software development cycle.
According to the company, the model was validated during development of an upcoming new version of its faidr app. Auddia reported approximately 4.8x faster feature delivery per engineer, roughly 79% fewer engineering resources required per equivalent scope of work, and a reduction in release cycles from approximately seven weeks to approximately 2.5 weeks.
The company said it expects the approach to result in a 40% to 50% decrease in engineering costs compared to its current outsourced model, while increasing development pace. The new faidr release will introduce a faster listening experience and genre-based playlisting functionality.
"Moving to an AI-first development model is one of the highest leverage decisions we've made this year," said Theo Romeo, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Auddia. "It changes the math on how much product we can ship for a given headcount, and it lets us respond to what our users and artist community are asking for on a much tighter cycle."
Auddia said the same development approach will be applied to future product cycles across faidr, Discovr Radio, and its broader portfolio. Subject to completion of a proposed business combination with Thramann Holdings, Auddia also expects the model to support software development across what would become the McCarthy Finney portfolio of companies. Upon closing of that merger, Auddia has said it plans to rename itself McCarthy Finney and trade under the ticker MCFN on Nasdaq.
