Atlas Lithium Corporation (NASDAQ: ATLX) announced that pre-assembly work is underway for its modular dense media separation lithium processing plant at the Neves Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, according to a company press release.

The company said its engineering staff is working with Alfa Engenharia, the electromechanical assembly contractor, and the South African engineering firm that designed the plant. The teams are currently grouping plant components into delivery packages and determining the assembly sequence.

The plant, which Atlas Lithium states is already paid for, located in Brazil, and fully permitted for installation and operation, is designed to produce approximately 146,000 tonnes of lithium concentrate per year. The modular design is intended to allow for future capacity expansion.

The plant's modules were trial assembled in South Africa before being disassembled and shipped to Brazil. Design features include water recirculation systems intended to recycle approximately 95% of process water, and dry-stacked tailings that eliminate the need for a tailings dam.

Atlas Lithium also said it has received written product interest from companies that, in aggregate, exceeds its planned production, without naming those companies.

The company holds approximately 557 square kilometers of lithium mineral rights in Brazil and an approximate 20% ownership stake in Atlas Critical Minerals Corporation (NASDAQ: ATCX).
