Asante Gold names Campbell Baird COO, CEO Dave Anthony to retire

Asante Gold Corporation (TSX-V: ASE) appointed Campbell Baird as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Baird brings more than 30 years of international mining experience across exploration, development and production operations in Africa, Australia and North America. He will focus on operational execution and production improvements at the company's Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines in Ghana.

"Campbell brings deep operational experience and a strong track record of delivering improvements across complex mining operations," said Malik Easah, Executive Chairman of Asante.

The company announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Anthony will retire effective May 15, 2026. Anthony joined Asante in July 2021 as Chief Operating Officer and became President and CEO in March 2022. Under his leadership, the company transitioned from development-stage to gold producer and raised more than $500 million in development capital.

Asante has initiated a search for a new Chief Executive Officer. Anthony will serve in an advisory capacity during a transitional period after his retirement date.

The company also retained Michele Muscillo and Kevin Tomlinson as advisors. Muscillo is a partner at HopgoodGanim Lawyers with experience in corporate governance and capital markets. Tomlinson has four decades of mining industry experience and previously served as Managing Director of Investment Banking at Westwind Partners and Stifel Nicolaus.

Dr. Roger Norwich retired as a director effective March 10, 2026, after serving on the board since August 2020.

Asante operates gold mines and exploration projects in Ghana and is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, Ghana Stock Exchange and OTCQX markets.
