Arteris to provide interconnect IP for AMD's next-generation AI chiplets

August 4, 2025 5:00 PM EDT

Arteris Inc. (NASDAQ: AIP) announced that AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) has licensed its FlexGen network-on-chip interconnect IP for next-generation AI chiplet designs. The technology will provide data transport capabilities in AMD chiplets across data centers, edge devices, and end devices.

The FlexGen NoC IP will work alongside AMD's Infinity Fabric interconnect in chiplet-based architectures. According to the companies, modern chiplets require between 5 and 20 interconnect networks for data transport.

"We are excited to collaborate and expand our relationship with AMD, a company recognized globally for its innovation in high performance computing," said K. Charles Janac, president and CEO of Arteris.

Mydung Pham, corporate vice president of silicon design engineering at AMD, stated that integrating Arteris' FlexGen NoC IP technology into AMD chiplets will "automate interconnect configuration and enable seamless connectivity among SoC components."

Arteris' FlexGen technology is designed to optimize wire length, reduce latency, and improve power efficiency in multi-die and chiplet-based designs. The IP can function as an independent interconnect solution or in combination with proprietary interconnect technology.

The announcement represents an expansion of the existing relationship between the two companies. Arteris provides semiconductor system IP for system-on-chip creation, while AMD develops high-performance computing technologies.
