AmpliTech Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPG, AMPGR, AMPGZ) announced it has been approved for membership in the AI-RAN Alliance, a global industry consortium focused on integrating artificial intelligence into radio access network technology.

The AI-RAN Alliance was launched in February 2024 at GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Founding members include Amazon Web Services, Arm, Ericsson, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung Electronics, and T-Mobile USA, among others. The alliance has grown from 11 founding members to more than 130 member organizations across more than 17 countries as of Mobile World Congress 2026.

According to the press release, AmpliTech's membership builds on its participation in the O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Spring 2026, where the company says it was the only 64T64R Massive MIMO radio among 31 participating companies. The company also describes its role as the hardware platform in what it characterizes as the first open-source Massive MIMO AI-RAN demonstration, conducted with members of the AI industry and Northeastern University.

"The AI-RAN Alliance brings together the companies defining how artificial intelligence gets built into wireless networks, from the silicon to the software to the radio," said Fawad Maqbool, founder, chairman, president, and CEO of AmpliTech Group. "Our hardware sits at the layer where AI-RAN either works, or it doesn't."

Alex Jinsung Choi, chair of the AI-RAN Alliance, said the company's expertise in RF technologies and Open RAN infrastructure "complements the Alliance's mission to drive AI-native network innovation."

Precedence Research estimates the global AI-RAN market at approximately $2.96 billion in 2025, with projected growth to approximately $37.19 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate of approximately 28.8%. Dell'Oro Group separately projects AI-RAN revenue will reach $35 billion by 2030.

AmpliTech is based in Hauppauge, N.Y., and designs and manufactures RF microwave components, 5G communication systems, and quantum computing low-noise amplifiers.
