AmpliTech Group Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPG) completed initial testing of its 64T64R CAT-B Massive MIMO O-RU radio during the O-RAN Global PlugFest Fall 2025, according to a company statement. The testing was conducted at Digital Catapult's SONIC Labs in London and involved collaboration with G-REIGN, a subsidiary of HTC Group.

The company participated in the Massive MIMO Beam Detection Test Scenario alongside other vendors testing interoperability of Open RAN components. The PlugFest included coordinated laboratories in London and Berlin operating identical hardware and software configurations.

AmpliTech's radio uses 64 transmit and 64 receive antenna elements, representing a high-capacity configuration in 5G networks. The testing focused on technical aspects including timing requirements across eCPRI, beamforming synchronization, and calibration across the antenna chains.

"Completing this initial phase of PlugFest is a major milestone for AmpliTech and for the Open RAN movement," said Fawad Maqbool, CEO and CTO of AmpliTech Group. "For the first time, a U.S. company has brought a commercial-grade 64T64R CAT-B Massive MIMO radio into formal interoperability testing across multiple independent O-RAN labs."

The next phase of testing is scheduled for Spring 2026, which will include end-to-end MIMO functionality testing and multi-vendor integration validation. The company stated this will prepare systems for broader commercial interoperability.

AmpliTech Group operates five divisions focused on radio frequency components and 5G network solutions, serving markets including telecommunications, defense, and satellite communications. The company is based in Hauppauge, New York.
