American Century Investments to close two ETFs in September

American Century Investments announced plans to close and liquidate two exchange-traded funds, the American Century Quality Preferred ETF (QPFF) and American Century Quality Convertible Securities ETF (QCON).

Both ETFs will cease trading on the Cboe BZX Exchange at market close on September 8, 2025. After this date, shareholders will be unable to dispose of their shares on the exchange. The funds will liquidate and distribute remaining assets to shareholders who have not redeemed or sold their shares on or about September 15, 2025.

Prior to liquidation, the funds may deviate from their stated investment objectives and strategies in preparation for final distributions to shareholders, according to the company's press release.

American Century Investments manages $72 billion in ETF assets as of June 30, 2025. The Kansas City, Missouri-based asset manager was founded in 1958 and serves financial professionals, institutions, corporations and individual investors through offices in multiple cities across the United States and internationally.

The Stowers Institute for Medical Research owns more than 40% of American Century Investments and has received over $2 billion in dividend payments from the company since 2000. American Century distributes over 40% of its dividends to the nonprofit biomedical research organization.
