Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) has launched Gemini for government services, an agentic platform designed for U.S. federal, state, and local government agencies, according to a company press release.
The solution is currently available in preview and includes pre-built skills for administrative workflows, data connectors to commonly used government systems, and a partner ecosystem of third-party agents. The State of Missouri and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services are among the early adopters.
Gemini for government services follows the recent releases of Gemini for legal and Gemini for financial services, continuing a series of industry-specific solutions built on Google's Gemini platform.
The platform includes connectors to tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook 365, Salesforce, and ServiceNow, as well as integrations with federal regulatory databases including eCFR, regulations.gov, and the Federal Register. Consulting and technology partners include Accenture Federal Services, Deloitte, SAIC, and Slalom, among others.
Stated use cases include policy interpretation, procurement compliance support, and processing of citizen-submitted documents such as pay stubs and lease agreements. The platform is also designed to assist with Freedom of Information Act redactions.
"To deploy agentic capabilities in the public sector requires non-negotiable standards for security, confidentiality, and data sovereignty," said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud. "Gemini for government services provides a secure environment for agencies to automate workflows, allowing civil servants to focus on delivering the responsive, high-quality services that citizens expect."
The company states that agency data remains within the organization's cloud environment and that base models are not trained on customer data without consent.
