Ainos granted three Japanese patents for electronic nose in robotics

Ainos, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIMD, NASDAQ: AIMDW) announced it has received three new patents in Japan covering AI Nose technologies and their integration with robotic systems, according to a company press release.

The three patents cover gas exchange systems for electronic noses, rapid chemical detection, and the integration of electronic nose technology with robots.

With the additions, Ainos reports a total of 124 patent assets worldwide, spanning chips, sensing architectures, chemical molecules, and applications.

The company states it does not intend to manufacture robots, but rather develop chemical sensing technology that could be used as a component layer within robotic and autonomous machine systems.

"Cameras can see. Microphones can hear. Sensors can detect touch and motion. But enormous amounts of real-world information exist in chemical signals that machines have historically had limited ability to interpret," said Eddy Tsai, Chairman, President and CEO of Ainos.

Tsai added that the company's objective is to build what it calls Chemical Intelligence for the physical world, with the Japanese robotics patents representing a step toward that goal.

Ainos said it intends to continue expanding its AI Nose deployments and developing its chemical sensing technologies across industrial, healthcare, and other applications.
