Ainos begins AI nose deployments in semiconductor facilities
Ainos Inc. (NASDAQ: AIMD) has started deploying its AI Nose technology in semiconductor manufacturing facilities, the company announced. The deployments are connected to the company's first $2.1 million order from a semiconductor packaging and testing company.
The Houston-based company began on-site deployments in January 2026 as part of its initial commercial execution in manufacturing environments. Ainos describes its AI Nose as a platform that digitizes scent into what it calls "Smell ID" using sensor arrays and artificial intelligence algorithms.
During the second half of 2025, Ainos conducted deployment readiness preparations for the technology rollout. The company is also advancing pilot programs in front-end semiconductor environments.
"2025 was about ensuring we were ready to scale in real manufacturing settings," said Eddy Tsai, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ainos. "With back-end commercial deployments now underway, we are operating in live environments that continuously generate real-world scent data."
The AI Nose platform integrates sensor arrays with AI algorithms designed for scent detection at parts-per-billion levels, subject to application conditions and deployment configurations. The technology is offered under a subscription-based service model.
Ainos operates as both an AI and biotech company, developing the AI Nose platform alongside VELDONA, an oral interferon treatment for rare and autoimmune diseases. The company's technology aims to convert scent signals into structured data for use in manufacturing monitoring and predictive analysis applications.
