Agility Robotics picks Nyobolt for fast-charging batteries in Digit 5
Agility Robotics has selected Nyobolt as the battery technology provider for its Digit 5 humanoid robot, according to a press release issued Oct. 15, 2026. The partnership centers on a fast-charging battery system that gives Digit 5 90 minutes of runtime and a recharge time of nine minutes, a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio compared with the 2:1 ratio of its predecessor, Digit 4.
The company says the system allows Digit 5 to operate more than 20 hours within a 24-hour period. "For our customers, Digit's uptime is the business case," said Daniel Diez, Chief Business Officer of Agility Robotics. "Digit 5 will deliver more than 20 hours of productive work in a 24-hour day, more than two full shifts."
Sai Shivareddy, co-founder and CEO of Nyobolt, said the technology was selected because Digit 5 requires more power from a smaller, lighter battery pack in demanding industrial environments.
Early access to Digit 5 with Nyobolt's battery system is expected to begin in the first half of 2027, with broader availability for manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution operators over the following six to nine months.
Agility Robotics is in the process of going public through a business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI (Nasdaq: CCXI). The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which the combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "AGLT."
